The Simple Grocer only partners with brands that share our values when it comes to clean labels, humane raising practices, and sustainability. We make it a point to try to visit & get to know each and every family or individual behind our brands. Check out the best of the best below!
Real food starts with real farmers. We work with self-sustaining family farms because they’re good stewards of their land, and they feel the ethical obligation to provide their pigs with a comfortable life.
Not only do they raise their pigs right, but they also grow the grain used to feed those pigs. It allows for a higher quality, well monitored feed free of animal by-products. They are housed in open pens with deep bedding and room to romp, frolic and engage in natural behavior.
With no growth hormones or antibiotics, our pigs grow slower than those at industrial “farms”, and we’re quite alright with that. It’s a better life for the pigs and produces the best pork we’ve ever eaten.
The Diestel Family Ranch has been in the family for over 70 years. It all began with Great Uncle Ernest, who taught our Grandpa Jack everything he knew. With Great Uncle Ernest’s time-tested techniques and honest philosophies, Grandpa Jack founded our humble farm in 1949. Since then, we’ve done everything but compromise the values he staked his name on to raise the leanest, cleanest, most delicious birds that money can buy. It’s a tradition that’s survived for decades, most recently with Tim and Joan Diestel, who laid a sound foundation for the transition from their watchful eye to their children, Heidi and Jason Diestel.

At TRIBALÍ, our recipes are developed using fresh, simple ingredients that have sustained human beings for generations. We begin with high quality, organic protein from ranchers who raise animals humanely. We grind and season our meats with herbs, spices, veggies, and purées for fresh, honest flavor.
We are committed to real, single-sourced ingredients and a sustainable and transparent supply chain. Everything we use is raised, grown, or gathered as humanely and as sustainably as possible. To nurture both people and animals, we support practices that prioritize animal welfare. We invite you to feel good about what you eat — and eat what makes you feel good!
Our vision has less to do with size and more to do with impact. We want to leave a positive mark on global agriculture. We want to see environmentally destructive factory farming come to an end. We want to see antibiotics, especially prophylactic antibiotic use, come to and end - preferably before a major outbreak of antibiotic resistance caused by livestock. We want to see a future that's regenerative, where manure is an asset and not a liability. Where we're building soil organic matter, producing a nutrient dense chicken, and giving animals a high level of welfare that we can be proud of and transparent to.
