THE DOMESTIC MAMA'S KABOBS MEETS THE DOMESTIC MAN'S SWEET & SOUR SAUCE
by Amy CarrollMarch 06, 2017
1 cup chicken stock
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
3 tbsp honey
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 tbsp tamari (coconut aminos okay)
1/2 tsp salt, more to taste
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp white pepper, more to taste
1 package Pederson's Natural Farms No Sugar Kielbasa, cut in chunks
1 large onion, cut in chunks
2 bell peppers, cut in chunks
Fresh pineapple, chunked (I bought fresh pineapple already cut in chunks in my produce department)
In a saucepan, combine the first 9 ingredients. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Reduce heat to low, and allow to simmer while you build your kabobs.
Thread skewers with kielbasa, onions, peppers, and pineapple.
Place kabobs on preheated grill, and brush sauce over the top.
Cook a few minutes (y'all, the kielbasa is fully cooked, so this is really just to your liking). Turn kabobs, and brush sauce on the other side.
Continue grilling and adding more sauce until the veggies are cooked to your liking.
Serve with remaining sauce. Enjoy!
I didn't put arrowroot starch in my ingredient list since I didn't use it. If you want a thicker sauce, I advise adding it.
I've given up on fancy photos, y'all. Whatever. Trying to wrangle my DSLR while I'm cooking is ridiculous. Plus, if I leave out a step, it's frustrating. So, now my goal is to get a good ingredients pic & finished product pic. That may go out the window by the end of the month, too.
