She’s a mom, she’s a chef, she’s SUPER TARA!
Tara Anderson, creator of Chef Tara’s Meal Makers, is a mom, a wife, and a chef. Her recipes are globally influenced and flavor forward while also focused on nutrition and wellness.
Tara grew up on a conventional family livestock and row crop farm in Western Kentucky where she learned a thing or two about hard work and local food; which was usually right out the back door. She helped tend her family’s large garden, which she has recreated in her own yard, along with numerous other chores that one has on a family farm. Her mother owned and operated a small business during her formative years, and her father was either farming or working in the ag industry. Both inspired her to set goals and always achieve them, eat well, work hard, play hard, and to lead - not follow.
Her upbringing led her to pursue and obtain a degree from The Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, New York. Since starting her career, Tara has worked in fine dining, high-end catering, and corporate dining around the country. Her work has taken her to St. Louis, Miami, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, New York City, and now Dallas. Most recently, Tara consulted exclusively for PepsiCo as the executive chef for their food service division. For almost three years, she successfully brought innovative ideas through integrating their brands into America’s favorite restaurant menus.
In addition to being a wife, a mother of two young girls, a chef, and a business owner, Tara enjoys gardening and Crossfitting. She is a member of the Lakewood Service League and an active member of Les Dames d’Escoffier, Dallas Chapter.
